Most children are in a traditional school system for thirteen years in grades K-12.
Many are in an institution of higher learning for four or more years after that.
We allow children to be preschoolers while they still can.
They will learn, grow and develop in a relaxed environment filled with love.
Benefits of attending preschool at Christ UMC Preschool
A Joyful Place to Be
As I prepare this information, there are children singing gleefully down the hall from my office. They sound so happy. No one is making them sing. This started spontaneously from their activities in class. Then one child said to another child, “I love you”.
Amazing Staff
Our staff is quite accomplished. In addition to former teachers, we have teachers who bring their own talents to their jobs here at Christ UMC. We have teachers with backgrounds in horticulture, science, photography, business, business management, early childhood education, psychology, and health and fitness enthusiasts. All staff members are CPR and first aid certified. We all care deeply about children and education. We also recognize and value that a church preschool is a unique opportunity to teach children early in life about the love of Christ.
Learning Environment
We have a great building and campus! Our preschool classrooms have a separate building all to themselves. No other church activities take place here during the weekday mornings. Doors are locked for the students’ safety. We have our own cleaning staff that cleans our facilities after each school day. We have a large, shaded playground, outdoor areas for games/activities and an outdoor gathering area. In addition, we have a large gymnasium for days when it is cold or rainy that lets us practice other type of large motor skills like pedaling a trike. Our classrooms are designed to encourage creative play and hands on learning daily. All of this means students have opportunities to learn in several different environments daily.
Do we have the largest enrollment compared to other local preschools?
No, and that’s one of the best parts! We are a well-kept secret in Charlotte. Our preschool enrollment is limited which offers a nice, family feel to our preschool. Many families make new, life-long friends through preschool.
Special Onsite Events Offered
Our fundraising efforts to purchase new exciting items each year for the classrooms are lead by the Director with assistance from Preschool Parent's.
Students have time to eat a lunch from home during the preschool day with their friends.
We align with the NC Foundations for Early Learning and Development.
We have low student to teacher class ratios
We have low staff turnover
We are always looking for other great ideas and are open to parent feedback and suggestions.
